   This video actually made me realize how talented he is. I didn't enjoy Vaaranam Aayiram and VTV (although performances were all good… it's just a movie that you can only enjoy when you're in similar position to characters).

   Minnale is one of those movies which took Tamil cinema to the next level. Gave actors like Madhavan a huge boost too.
   Vettaiyadu Vilayadu was a sensible and realistic cop movie which hadn't been done before – the slick screenplay is why that movie was good.
   Kaakha Kaakha was also a good revenge story based on a cop with a new interesting screenplay which made it one of the best films of the early 2000s.
   VTV and Vaaranam Aayiram were also realistic tributes to his personal life and struggles.

   Some say that he copies others but I disagree. I think GVM is a new breed of directors… no one else (not even the famous Shankar) can direct with the same western feel… for that Goutham deserves praise.

   One of the more talented directors of Tamil cinema.
