   IT IS A GOOD MOVIE FOR THALA FANS. BUT SARAN AGAIN DISOPOINTING WITH LACK OF MOMENTUM IN THE WHOLE MOVIE. HE LOST HIS TOUCH SINCE ATTAGASAM. AJITH DID A GREAT JOB IN AN AVERAGE SARAN MOVIE.

   Good movie in my opinion.
   I dont think adults will appreciate these types of films.
   It's more of a youthy type of film.
   I mean its like James Bond, and to adults, especially women, it might not be appealing since action isn't their taste, especially action which is shot at high budgets.
   The movie was great in my opinion and the company I work for managed to collaborate with the technical team for some special effects. The songs were kinda bad to be honest and I thought that due to the Hollywood style to it, B and C centre viewers might find it hard to digest.

   Asal could be described in a 2 word… mokka padam……….If ajith follows this genre of movies then surely he would be out of the race. Movie has just style but no substance…worst movie

    Ayan + Billa = Asal, I`m sick of seeing movies taken in foreign countries.

    They should take movies in Tamil Nadu.

    This Looks like Flopped English movie

      I agree with you but I dont understand why you hate films took in different countries. It exposes other countries to people in Tamil Nadu who probably dont have the money to go there or something. I like that sort of style where stuff happens in different countries but not throughout the film, a small portion like in Villu or Ayan is good but if its the full movie, its quite lame.
      Ajith is still in the Billa "hangover". Trust me, walking about in no-emotion manner isn't called acting.
      Asal is a huge budget film but how could they have gone wrong about it. I was pretty certain the film wasn't gonna be as great as I hoped after hearing the songs but the stylish trailer boosted my expectations at soaring levels but I was immensely dissapointed. Nice cinematography, superb editing, nice use of CG, nice sceneries but that doesn't do the film justice. Thank god Prabhu did a satisfying job. Overall I'll give this film a 4 out of 10 just for the good technical side and fair performance of the heroines.

    i expected a lot from this combination of thala n saran but ajith acting n style is rocking in the movie. saran did not done his job e disopointed us !!!!!!!!!!!

    i agree with "naan oru mudhevi"..i expected soo much from asal..hoping this would be a turn point for ajith..but i think he god addicted to the slick and stylish charecter he played for billa (probably he thought he look stoo good). so he decided to bore us with the same kind of acting. and he puffing away on his cigar ALL the time which was annoying. all in all,a bad replica of some action english film
