Vettaikaran Story
There is nothing special in this movie. It is just a mixture of many Vijay’s movie. Vijay comes to Chennai with an ambition to become a police officer and he studies in a college and also drives auto for survival. He meets Anushka in the railway station and happens to find her in Chennai again.
Now in Chennai, we have usual villains who threaten the public always and try to kidnap and rape girls. Vijay’s friend becomes a victim of the villains once, so he fights the villain and send him to hospital. Now Villains father is another one big shot and he starts to fight Vijay and successfully Vijay kills all the villains and creates a clean Chennai.
So by reading this short story, you know that there is nothing special since we have all seen these type of movies many times.
Good Points
- Vijay did not take much risk in this film, he played very safe
- Vijay as usual delivered his performance
- Anushka did her part well
- Music for songs are good and matches Vijay’s film
- Movie was driven very safe in the first half
- Fortunately, SUN TV is there to save this film
Bad Points
- Story should have been a different one
- Screen play was the same that was delivered for many failure movies, I expected some new way
- Why Villains always come with long hair and peculiar look? a Villain in modern day looks like Kishore in Pollathavan film
- Action scenes: Same old zero gravity fights, didn’t we enjoy Pithamangan or many Arjun movies like Elumazhai or Vathiyar or Maruthamalai and there are many more
- Music: Our musicians only knows to blaring the horn in serious scenes. Really sick
- If somebody says that this film is extraordinary one, I advice them to watch movies like Thee or Sathyam and find the difference. I bet there wont be a difference in the way these movies are taken.
- Comedy, there are many movies that are successful only with comedy. Vijay always made many success movies with the help of Vadivelu or Vivek. Then why do mokka comedy in Vettaikaran?
- Vijay is a great actor, but who cares if he cannot choose and deliver a nice film, he is so much afraid of choosing some good role playing movies like Kathalukku Mariyathai or Poove Unakkaga or many more successful movies that he acted as a common man instead of a super hero to make every villain fly in the air.
- If you are a Vijay fan and love him so much, and if you get a chance to meet Vijay, Please ask him to deliver better movies than this one. I will love to see these type of heroes do a better films like how Kamal did Unnai Pol Oruvan or Mammuti did Pazhasi Raja. He simply needs to come down a bit and take other good role in any film. We all know what Rajini did to come back after big failure of BABA. In Chandramuki, a good role that brought back all his fans together.
- I really expect a good story in Sura
idiot
Our tamil cinema fans always have the hard time agreeing to the truth….
hahaha i knew u wont lyke tat movie..
first worst movie kandhasamy n second is veetaikaran…
Good review Suppan but I totally don't agree with your "bad" points.
They are not related to the movie but rather a rant about Vijay and he fails to pick an amusing story.
But I'm surprised it's a huge success in India. They've made more than their budget I believe within the first 3 days. Which is amusing since many Sri Lanks even asked to boycott the film cause Vijay had met Rahul and planned to join Congress which is a rumour but the film still ran successfully.
I think Anushka was just their for the sake of it. She had nothing to do with the story which is dissapointing since she is a beautiful and very able actress and could have been used for better purposes rather than for just 2 songs.
Why didn't you mention Sanjay?
He did great dancing.
I agree about the comedy. The comedy WAS good though but it isn't enough.
But for Vijay, Sura should be BIG hit. He is gonna be a fisherman. I smell a village-ish type plot similar to Subramniapuram and Nadodigal.
The death of Sathyan was completely unneccessary.
Anushka looks WONDERFUL. The villains have done really well.
vijay sir we hope u act under maniratnam, shankar, gautham r selvaraghava sir direction,,,yetachum puthusa seyenge sir…yepe paru orai 10 vere adiche parke vidurethum oru saruke kude kuthu dance aderethum…aporem punch diolog solerethum tidurne sentimental alugerethum..thousands time parthache…..
why not vijay do some movies as rajini though both do action type films do films like 6 mudhal aruvadu varai thillu mullu bla bla bla
you missed out a lot of bad points, like
1- pathetic climax
2 – painful to the ear music
3 – Anushka had nothing to to in this movive
4 – Comedy is not good enough (it feels like watching Vijay's previous comedies)
5 – Vijay is playing way too safe, despite already having 3 failures with simialr stories
6 – Too much punch dialogues (1 or 2 punch dialogues is fine, but a whole conversation of punch-dialogue is painful to the ears)
7 – excessive amount of violence, blood and gore
8 – Story resembles a dozen of Vijay's previous movies
9 – normally vijay copies Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's style, but in this movie he just copied Rajini's style completely
10 – anyone who watches this movie will get a painful headache after coming out of the theatre
Excuse me.
Your totally biased.
If you have anything to say which Vijay could improve on, please do share it with us but don't share your personal opinion of the film since the stuff you said is bullcrap.
I agree with the violence, it wasn't needed but the songs were superb. If you didn't like the songs, then your just crazy cause the songs were great. How was their any PUNCH DIALOGUE?
You have nothing else to say bad so you make shit up.
How could there be a lot of punch dialogues. Go watch Villu or Pokkiri or even Ghilli for the fact. Every line in the movie is a punch dialogue. In Vettaikaran there are NO punch lines in the first half and even in the second, there were only 3-4 punch dialogues.
The zero gravity stunts were awful, and cant believe you didnt mention them.
On the technical side everything is good but the editing should be handled a bit more carefully.
Vijay life and his cinema carrier is not based on ur comments.
No one can blame Vijay for movies he is in. If people have accepted n likened the way he has acted up to now, there is no point in saying all these stuffs. Decades ago , MGR has been doing almost the same buff, u guys made him the CM. Whats wrong if Vijay harps on his own way of doing movies when there r still people willing to watch his movies?
I agree with you BIllu.
But the thing was that the key thing is direction.
The story might be bullcrap, but the direction was handled with great care I'd say.
Babu Sivan's first shot.
I'd never spend money on this movie again, because I've seen it and whilst its not anything special, and CAN be skipped as a film of movie, it is a GREAT improvement from his normal everyday kind of guy. He's an auto drive, villains good. I mean come on, they just got the script wrong.
Sura however, has high hopes since I enjoyed Alagar Malai by RK a lot and I bet Sura would be just as superb. Vadivelu, Tammanah, Vijay, Mani Sharma etc. So many good aspects and if that isn't enough, Sun Pictures is once again there to save the day.
vijay films are total crap. Because of these actors tamil cinema is not getting recognition in world stage. Comparing with mgr films is absolutely foolish which are 30 to 40 years old. So you are saying vijay is travelling in bullock cart. Grow up man
MGR films are crap to be honest.
I'd rather watch Villu (in my opinion the worst Vijay film, wait, lemme rephrase that, the worst Tamil film in the last decade) a thousand times than go through MGR films. MGR films are famous for MGR's EXACT dance steps in ever film and his weird accent and how he reacts. Trust me, its not all about Vijay. It's not like Vijay did everything.
Consider the rest of the cast, quality of dancing, songs, sets and other features and aspects of the film rather than just criticising/ranting about Vijay.
Mr.Suppan.i appreciate your view which entirely tallies mine.To be precise you are a good film critic. As you pointed out Mr.VJ should look into your comments for betterment of his film career.Thank you.
Mr.Doni,I think you are a fan of Mr.VJ.But my opinion is If you love him,Kindly criticize him despite patting him on back because that is what true love is all about. As Mr.Billu said,Will people like you or us accept what earlier MGR times people did.Times have changed & so Mr.VJ should change.
Ji rocks, of course, I'm pretty sure everyone he admires Vijay's sense of style/comedy in movies and enjoy watching his films. However, I am being serious. If you watch the movie a second time, you can concentrate on some other aspects. At first, the comedy seemed crap but after re-viewing it, I just realised how good the comedy was at the start, all the way from the side dish joke to the Vijay crying scene. The film isn't great but was OK. I should be patting Vijay on the back since he has done his role perfectly well, he only made a mistake of going for a story which isn't quite that appealing to all. But otherwise in terms of acting, he actually never fails. So even if I wasn't a fan (trust me, I am not a hardcore fan who just wants to back Vijay up even if I know the film is bad), I'd still consider the amount of work and dedication VIjay has given. The cast is fine. Story needs some brushing up. I'm pretty sure the film would be very enjoyable if they ditched the unrealistic stunts and replaced it with a sideplot involving Anushka and some more comedy to balance it up.
If you see Ajith and Vijay Vijay is following Rajini s track and Ajith Kamal s track that is Vijay does only action movies like Rajini and Ajtih does a variety type of movies like Kamal.
1st half comedy superb.2nd half very racy.i dun find the fights bad.they are very good in fact.it is nice to watch such fights in theatre.aakroshamana sandaikatchigal pidithirunthathu
I was wondering, this film would be awesome if they had the Nadodigal plot but called it Vettaikaran with Vijay and gang (Sathyan etc.) and kept the Vijay Antony songs in it.
But even then, Anushka wouldn't have anything to do with the film.
yes vj wud hv suited superbly to nadodigal 's story isnt it
I think the movie is good.Better than Villlu and Kuruvi.Recent times after Pokkiri this movie is best after Pokkiri
i like this comment
well thanks
i cannot sit and watch the movie it is attrotious please vijay dont do this type of movies but i know you will repeat this only any way enjoy the outcomes. vijay fans you will see vijay and company will celebrate 100th day function for this movie i really feel ashamed to see that our tamil films are becoming a type of telugu film when compared to this movie i would see ajith flop movie agon this is better when compared to vettaikaran.
considering vijay's recent movies like villu and kuruvi it's better.but on the whole it's just an below average movie.vijay should try more different movies or else he'll lose even his own loyal fan base quite easily.
Nope.
This IS what his fans want.
That's why its strictly for fans if you wish to watch in the cinema.
The main reason why it's a huge hit is because his fans are making it a hit.
I know a guy who's watched the movie eight time already in the cinema.
The film isn't too bad like you said compared to this previous films.
First half was good I'd say, not die-hard comedy but moderately satisfying, keeping in mind that there isn't a real comedian. Second half which was somewhat OK was messed up thanks to Kannal Kannan. He sucks at stunts. They could have gotten someone else like Rocky Rajesh, who is a new stunt master and he provides realistic yet satisfying for both fans and no-fans stunts. Just cause the acrobatic scene in Ayan was well-praised doesn't mean Kannal Kannan could get all big headed about it. He didn't even do it, they got some French guys to train Surya. It's bullcrap how these retarded stunt masters ruin everything.
Second half would've been better if Anushka had something to do with it since she was like a guest role, shook her hips in 2 songs and appeared in a comedy scene, then she was off. It was dissapointing since she's a great actress yet her talent had gone to waste. Not only that, great songs plus Sanjay dances with Vijay. I mean technically and musically everything is superb, but I hate seeing all that going to waste with a crap plot.
I'd give the movie a 6 since it was better than usual Vijay films.
The last good Vijay films I remember watching was Pokkiri.
i accept it but in recent times reality movies have become big hits compared to movies like this.his fans may love it but if he continues to do it in future he'll just become another vijayakanth or balakrishna.
i will tell you one truth you may find it hard to digest but as for now reality movies has got a recognition
but still they have not become huge grossers.iam not degrading them.but as of now .this is the state.and for how many days do u think this trend(neo realism) will continue?maximum 2 -3 yrs then back to masala.and then back to neo-realism and then go back to masala and it goes on
won't u read earlier replies i already answered u.
i will tell you one truth you may find it hard to digest but as for now reality movies has got a recognition

i don't think so.thematic movies have been produced even before parasakthi and they have become blockbusters.everyone know that even in black and white period only mgr was doing these masala ones.these masala pieces reached peak at 1980's-early2000's.i think u definitely know that this was the time when guyz like maniratnam, vasanth, pavithran, bala, selvaraghavan etc rose to heights.even today great directors like mahendran, balachander, barathiraja, balu mahendra are known for their off beats which infact dominated the industry during their time.
many masala flicks have been greatest blockbusters no sweat, but realism oriented ones too were always in the race.it's not like that these genre movies have just been identified with in 2 or 3 years.
the reason y u can't find them before some 5 or 6 years is that they were produced in lesser numbers .but now with coming of directors like sasikumar, ameer, gautham menon etc they are produced in large numbers.even actors want to act in movies like these atleast once a year ex:kamal-unnai pol oruvan,surya-vaaranamayiram ,vikram-pithamagan,ajith-kireedam.u can find a lot of actors like this.
even this year some of the big hits like unnai pol oruvan,nadodigal,pasanga,13b, Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu are just the different ones.even vijay has acted in kadhalukku mariyadhai, pove unakkaga etc,but that was way back he definitely needs to do such a movie.whereas the only masala blockbuster this year is malai malai.nobody can deny this.only reason why masala films got big response is due the star actors, even that has changed now.some years back almost every offbeat that kamal tried failed.a very good ex is anbe sivam, hey raam etc.but now UPO which has no songs,no fight,no love,no comedy etc is a big blockbuster.whereas same movie in telugu is a flop, this shows how tamil cinema has evolved.
if villu and aegan were releaed even some 5 or 6 years back they would have been blockbusters no doubt.both ajith and vijay are mass heros but their movies fail.but ordinary movies with new faces hit big because of good story and quality of acting.this only shows that people are transitioning from this side to other and this is not trend this is some kind of evolution from a C grade one to A grade.so this won't sway instead they would go in same way.so if vijay doesn't change soon he'd only be alienated from rest.vettaikaran fared well due to sun tv or else we know what would have happened.this won't happen every time so he should try looking for more good story and try to act as he did in his early carrer.
hey suppan wat is your take on this? do rply.
Hi Vimal,
What you said is 100% correct…
Masala Movies win too, Example Pokkiri is mixture of imagination, rowdyism and toomany usage of GUN. but the way the movie was taken is nice.
Same time, a good base story is needed for any movie…. Then the screenplay and proper editing.
Thanks for your comment…
thanks man.
nobody can deny that vijay has an amazing crowd pulling capacity.even though ghilli and pokkiri are remakes and masala they were really good and very much entertaining.thoughmost of his hits are remakes it takes a lot for an actor to redo the magic.so vijay is not a guy who doesn’t know how to act.with his talent he could do a great bit of movies.
if he can’t go for neo-realistic themes he shall try movies like pokkiri, friends which were really good.some advice which i would like to give to him are:
1.try to choose a gripping story like ghilli etc.
2.should try to take some hardwork into acting.takeup more challenging roles.
3.should take care that his movies don’t portray too much bloodshed and violence.
4.definitely please cut out the zero gravity stunts and punch dialogues, opening fights ,opening songs etc
5.create your own style of acting.donot copy others.the people would do the rest for you.
am i right or wrong suppan?
Hey Vimal,
I agree but here's what a Vijay film MUST need and it's a guaranteed blockbuster and at the same time satisfying for all audiences:
100% comedy through out – Ghilli had superb comedy and even in the serious moments, Prakash Raj's "chellam" line was hysterical!!
So you see, the story needs to be reasonable. The story in Vettaikaran is very cliched. Come on, what are the chances of a young man going to fight a whole army of rich, corrupt bastards?
So as I said, if Vijay movies have a lot of comedy (which is very funny of course) and a reasonably realistic plot, it's a definite hit.
So no, Vijay doesn't have to do a love story or a realistic film. Suppan liked Unnaipol Oruvan but I didn't like it. It wasn't a BAD film but it wasn't entertaining either. Exceptional acting but even if it turns out to be a hit, I want something funny, emotional and also action-packed. But there are limits. I enjoyed Adhavan thoroughly thanks to the insane amount of comedy but at the same time, many aspects from his previous films had been imitated and by the end of the first half I was tired of the film cause Surya was basically trying to kill the judge. Nothing else. But Vadivel was the hero of the film, without him, I'd have just hated it.
It needs everything but it should be limited.
well it's not about a single aspect i'm talking about genre karen.i too watched the movie .it wasn't irritating as villu but it isn't great either.because the story is some 20 years old.well talking about reasonable plot atm was realistic plot and had good comedy and it even had arr's music but it didn't succeed mainly because of the way it was taken.it could have been taken a lot better if the usual so called "VIJAY FORMULA" was skipped.
and not all audiences are satisfied with wat this one has turned out to be.but pokkiri really entertained every one because it really had a story but the plot was 100% unreal but the way movie was taken was really racy.(i really like to tell everybody that i'm not addicted to reality movies.i like movies with a atleast a stint of difference and good film making.) every review for the movie said that it's a movie for only vijay fans.for a talented actor like vijay this should not be case his movies should reach everyone.
u may not like UPO but most of audiences liked it a good proof it's box office collections.infact it didn't even had an exposure like vettaikaran(due to sun tv) had.yet it went to win the box office.again considering aadhavan everyone knows even surya did his bit it was vadivelu who carried the movie entirely and the movie wasn't that much good either.well surya recieved negative for his efforts in movie though the movie was a hit.so if actor does gives hits but gets thumbs down for his acting only he'll be among his fan and loses others.this is wat happened to sarath kumar and vijayakanth.some 4 or 5 years earlier vijay's movie pulled almost every one but now only his fan's are with him.so he's definitely heading towards where sarath and vijaykanth.so if he doesn't try something new he'll be also in same list
so clearly understand wat i'm trying to tell.i'm not against movies like this all it needs is some difference from its predecessors in the way of filming."AYAN,MALAI MALAI" were also a movie like this genre but they had been taken in a new way and it's way of telling the plot was fresh.so they were a big hit. so here's wat he has to do just try to alter his style atleast a bit and take up a new story atleast like ayan. so that he could pull back everyone.
Hey Vimal,
Thanks, that was a bit more clear about what you were trying to justify.
The thing with Azhagiya Tamil Magan is that it wasn't Vijay's type of role.
His appearance isn't that of a romance film but more of a kuthu style film.
Back a decade ago or so, Vijay looked a lot more…homely and suited those type of love roles with a calm attitude, but Vijay now has changed (and I mainly think because of the many masal films he has acted in) so I believe that he SHOULD target those pokkiri raja type of style films.
He SHOULD go for masala movies but it shouldn't portray him in every single frame. With Pokkiri, without the good songs and fantastic comedy, it wouldn't be anything special. Thanks to the brilliant screenplay, brilliant camerawork and sleek editing, the film turned out to visually be better than people expected it to be.
You see, the plot isn't quite the thing. Even with Vettaikaran, I believe, something much better could have been made. Rather than the larger than life, zero-gravity stunt-filled Vijay, we could have had our normal "comedic" Vijay style and they could have changed the plot completely so he turns to be a police man within the first half.
You see, Vijay is a very capable actor and I think he should go for roles like Vettaikaran where he dons the role of a rickshaw driver but he needs to select the script which doesn't just show how strong and important he is. Anushka almost had nothing to do with the film. It was Vijay, Vijay, Vijay.
The director had to focus so much on Vijay that the film wasn't quite what I expected. Even in Malai Malai, it's type of "savaal" film where the hero challenges the villain and it was technically well polished and captured well. I was highly impressed with Kannal Kannan's stunts in that film thanks to the average stunts rather than the unrealistic ones. Remember the one in which he steals a bike and chases after a car. It's captured so well.
What I'm trying to say is that there is nothing wrong with these type of roles but Vijay needs to provide a bit of everything. He needs to show romance, anger and most of all comedy for an all=rounded performance.
I personally think that quality comes first and box-office performance last. Vettaikaran is becoming a HUGE hit and running well but I wasn't SATISFIED. You see, at the end of the day Vijay IS gonna make his money. The viewer however needs to have a satisfying film.
So as I said, Vijay must go for these type of roles to keep his fans happy and at the same time he should maintain a balanced appearance and should have a cocktail of several aspects to maintain the satisfaction amongst neutral viewers too.
What was Pokkiri? Just a movie in which an undercover cop is killing bad guys.
Once again, Vijay could go for a film where a guy from a different village comes to be a police officer but it should be balanced out like Pokkiri with equal amount of appropriate comedy, romance and nothing should go to waste.
I hope you understand what I mean. Vijay doesn't need to make another one of those love genre films to become successful again. He can go for a same type of average young man type of roles but at the same time everything should be balanced and not over-done so it satisfies all viewers.
But yes, I do agree however that Vijay should try out films similar to Ayan but that depends on the director. Films like Ayan come out once in a while. Vijay should be looking for those type of roles and at the same time he should also go for roles like Vettaikaran but just look for a plot with a bit of everything and compare it to this previous films to see if it is identical or not.
I'm sure that Sura should be a good film.
He's gonna be a fisherman and the director is the genius behind Azhagar Malai which was a success, and I hope he does a good job with Sura.
I can't help but think that Sura is gonna turn out to be a violent movie since the word Sura means shark. I hope it isn't another one of those action-packed films. Kannal Kannan should also not get ahead of himself.
correct
Calling all Christians to see Vettaikaran many times so that it will be hit. We must ensure that our fellow Christian Joseph Vijay becomes the first Christian Chief Minister of Tamilnadu. Let us make Tamilnadu 100% Christian state.
better luck vijay next time
because of actors like vijay, tamil cinema industry is never getting any recognition in world cinema. his films have same story like a villain in city who is feared even by CM and PM, sometime even the army gets kicked like a football for the whole. and the heroine used as pickle or side dish in the movie. and always his movie has opening song advising the same respect mother, language and state with lots of village background. grow up guys
because of actors like vijay, tamil cinema industry is never getting any recognition in world cinema.
I agree with this
because of actors like vijay, tamil cinema industry is never getting any recognition in world cinema.
I agree with this
Calling all Christians to see vettaikaran many times so that it will be a hit. We christians should make sure our fellow Christian Ilayathalapathy Joseph Vijay becomes the first Christian Chief minister of Tamilnadu soon. Let us make Tamilnadu 100% Christian state

SUPPAN REVIEW – WHAT NON SENSE. BECOZ OF ALL THIS STUPID REVIEW (WHO DOESNT HAVE CREDIBILITY TO JUDGE) STARTED COMMENTING / WRITING, MAKES THE INDUSTRY GO MAD. WHAT REVIEW, HE WRITES SO MANY BAD POINTS AGAINST GOOD POINTS, THATS SAY IT ALL ABOUT THE PERSON WHO WRITES THIS REVIEW. NOT ONLY THIS MOVIE, CONSISTENTLY THE REVIEW TAKES DIGS ON SO MANY BAD THINGS. ASHAMED.

TEN CHANGES SHOULD BE MADE TO MAKE THE INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE APPLAUD TO KOLLYWOOD,
1. The one liner syndrome: Please stop delivering unnecessary punch dialogues.
2.The intro song: Please stop making introduction songs an inevitable boredom.Scores of back up dancers, grand settings and a heroine/item girl in a special appearance (optional); that is the general formula for an intro song. But the most important part is the lyrics. There have to be lines extolling the hero in question, lines advising us about some aspect or other of life (mostly about how to succeed), lines about how the hero is a guardian angel for the masses and other lines fit in to adjust to the tunes.)
3.Fan-Fare: Please stop making movies just for your fans!
4.The Fight and Flight Factor: Please avoid thrashing one dozen bad guys in one go and opt for fight scenes as per your physical parameters.Newton’s Fourth Law of Kollywood – The three laws can be broken by exceptional personalities. There are enough e-mails doing the rounds where Isaac Newton commits suicide after watching a Tamil movie.
5.Together we stand: Please start signing multi-starrers.The last big multi-starrer in Tamil cinema was ‘Pithamagan’ and that was nearly 5 years ago.
6.Propaganda Problem: Please, strictly no politics on screen!
7.Heroines: Please give your leading ladies a bit more of the lead.Looking good, talking cute and shaking a leg are all that is required of a heroine in most movies; their only connection to the main plot being their relationship with the hero.
8.Take risks: Please explore different genres.Boy meets girl, good guy meets bad guy, cop meets don, innocent man in trouble, one man cleans the entire society are some lines that can summarize most films in Kollywood and some are even more banal.
9.Enough of always being the Mahatmas: Please start playing the bad boys, give us variety!
10.Be the character: Please stop being the celebrity on screen too.We enjoy the build up, the thumping background scores and the entire process of projecting the character as a phenomenon.
Is this movie better than Aayirathil Oruvan?? OmG…. That's so untrue…..
It definitely is.
Great songs in Vettaikaran, more comedy that AO, beatiful Anushka and handsome Vijay, satisfying cinematography, good editing and CGI.
Definitely better than AO.
VIjay should take the credit of being the WORST ACTOR of his generation.
While Surya , Vikram, Ajith try to different things and try to get better, this MORON is back at his OLD CRAPPY ways…
His so called PUNCH dialogues make us WANT TO PUNCH HIM IN HIS FACE…..
The rate at which his movies are flopping he is no better than any of the second or third rung of heroes, read S.J.Surah, Sunder C. …..
Mara, get a life.
The punch dialogues are all written by the director, go beat him up.
You pull all the bad aspects on Vijay when all he had done was act and get the money he worked for.
Why doesn't the blame fall on the director, the actress? Huh?
If your gonna be a biased person, just get off this site cause all your doing is ranting about Vijay.
Fine, Vikram has done a different role, did you watch Kandasamy? It was bullcrap.
It doesn't matter how you look or act, its about the film and entertainment value. Suppan has rated the film all rounded from editing to music, from screenplay to acting, not simply just on Vijay.
Ajith has actually never (recently) done anything new. State one thing he has done?
Maybe yes he did portray a gangster or a double role, but he never acts. He's always silent, if you think thats good, you might as well not watch a film and go sit in silence yourself. Surya always goes for serious roles but not everyone wants to see sad films like VA.
So how about you shut up and get the hell off this site.
it is pathetic that vijay fans are sooo biased and cant except reality..this was a bad film..i was looking forward for good comedy in this film as usualy vijay films always have good comedy..even that was missing.. Vijay is a superb actor..PLEASE vijay, next do act in films that can project your acting talent. he should consider audience and fans like me who want to see him doing charecters that matter..i am not being biased towards vijay.i recognize some of his heroism films such as gilli are realy good.. but vettaikaran certainly does not fall in line with such films.
Everyone who's just being a hater, stop hating.
If you dont like Vijay, dont watch his films.
I was looking at an interview with his dad, and he said from 2011 onwards Vijay will be picking different roles.
At the moment he is only doing masala films to reach the Rajini status.
thanx karen,
atlast u found out wat i was trying to tell u.i didn't mean that he should go for same ones like kaadhalukku mariyadhai, atm.i mentioned the movies because vijay wasn't doing anything different.i definitely agree he has changed his looks for a mass feel and all.so he should atleast choose good directors even if he didn't choose good scripts.eventhough an actor is important it's a director who makes a movie hit or flop.
vettaikaran is a good example.it was the director who made it a hit.but the current ground level is that neutrals have evolved and they requiring some difference in story and it's way of telling.that is the reason y subramaniapuram and paruthiveeran were blockbusters.even these movie were just ordinary scripts but way of telling and picturisation was amazing.
most of all these movies didn't have a crazy stunt sequence like vijay's.villu may have been poor script but it was the stunts that irritated the audiences more.so unless he does a movie atleast like ayan or even aadhavan(it had comedy and all aspects but it was surya and stunts that lagged to produce the masala feel like vijay),his chances of catching up with others actors in terms of neutral fans are very low.he is a talented guy but he is completely wasting them in useless scripts like these.first of all he should leave out kanal kannan.
well i'm too expecting a good one in sura.i'm sure he should have selected a good script since it's his 50th movie.hope he doesn't disappoints.
Yep.
I understand now.
Unfortunately Kannan is to choreograph the stunts in Sura.
The reaction for the stunts in Vettaikaran were said to be great and I bet Kannan will make it once again all messed up. I don't mind over-the-top stunts unless they are presented in a realistic manner. In Ayan, the parkour stunts shot in Africa was over-the-top but looked good to the eye and was fast-paced. With Vijay, it's very unrealistic, he just jumps off the ground, does a 360 in a tilted position and takes down 10 men at once. That is irritating. So I hope by stunts, it should improve.
Sura is highly likely to be good since it has a great cast, technical team and also a good director (the guy behind Azhagar Malai which was good, plus the producer is popular since he produced a move back in the 90s which turned out to be a huge hit and also starred Vijay.
Then there is Sun Pictures to save Sura too just incase anything goes wrong.
Either way, Sura is to be a hit. I'm sure Vijay has a successful time for his next 2-3 films but by then I hope he has learnt from his mistakes and improved upon the errors.
